Former WPP executive Richard Foster filed the $100 million wrongful termination suit. The suit claims Sony investigated WPP's media arm, GroupM, following a scandal in China.
The lawsuit alleges WPP kept $350 million in rebates in China. It passed on only $110 million to clients.
WPP publicly refuted these claims. It called the amended complaint "baseless and without merit." WPP stated the suit is an attempt by Foster to prevent the case's dismissal.
Sony declined to comment on the pending litigation.
