Sony Financial Group reported a profit before income taxes of ¥13.7 billion for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026. This result reverses a loss from the same period last year.

Operating revenues increased 10.5% year-over-year. Adjusted net income surged 43.6% to reach ¥31.5 billion during the quarter.

Growth was broad-based across all major business segments. Improvements were recorded in life insurance, non-life insurance, and banking operations.

The company raised its full-year operating profit forecast to ¥29 billion for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027. Management attributed the revised outlook to lower-than-anticipated losses on securities sales.
