Sony Semiconductor Solutions and Mitsubishi Electric will establish a joint venture named Advanced Vision Solutions Co., Ltd. Operations for the new entity will begin in October 2026. Mitsubishi Electric will hold a 60% stake in the company, while Sony retains 40%.
The venture focuses on developing AI-powered vision sensors for manufacturing. These solutions combine Sony’s edge AI image sensors with Mitsubishi Electric’s factory automation control systems. The partnership aims to accelerate factory automation and support unmanned operations.
