SK hynix reported record third-quarter results. Operating profit surged 632% year over year to 83.33 trillion won, driven by strong demand for AI memory chips, particularly high-bandwidth memory (HBM). The company posted record revenue and operating profit for the sixth consecutive quarter. It said its HBM production is effectively sold out through 2029.
Alongside the earnings report, SK hynix unveiled a shareholder return program totaling approximately 100 trillion won for the 2026 fiscal year. The program includes dividends and share buybacks.
The announcement sparked a strong market reaction. SK hynix shares rose more than 11% in South Korea, while its U.S.-listed shares jumped in premarket trading. Other memory chip stocks also gained.
