Siemens Healthineers plans to change its name to Healthineers as its parent, Siemens AG, prepares to relinquish its majority stake. The move is part of a strategy to make the medical technology company fully independent.
The transition is expected to begin in 2027, following shareholder approval of a spin-off that would deconsolidate Siemens Healthineers from Siemens AG. Shareholders of both companies are scheduled to vote on the name change and spin-off at their annual meetings in February 2027.
The move would allow Siemens AG to focus more closely on its industrial technology businesses, including artificial intelligence. Separately, Siemens Healthineers is carving out its in vitro diagnostics business as a standalone company named Olyrian Diagnostics.
