Shell PLC applied to list approximately 228 million new ordinary shares on the London Stock Exchange. Trading for these shares will begin on September 3, 2026. The issuance funds the acquisition of Canadian energy producer ARC Resources Ltd.
The transaction carries an enterprise value of approximately $16.4 billion. Shell first announced the deal in April 2026. The acquisition has received all necessary shareholder and regulatory approvals.
The deal adds about 2 billion barrels of oil equivalent to Shell’s reserves. It significantly expands the company's natural gas and liquids production in Canada’s Montney shale basin.
