RTX’s Pratt & Whitney division will power up to 63 British Airways Airbus A320neo aircraft with its GTF engines. The agreement, announced at the Farnborough International Airshow, consists of 33 firm orders and 30 options. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027.

The deal includes a 12-year EngineWise Comprehensive services contract for long-term maintenance. This selection marks a strategic shift for British Airways, which currently uses engines from competitor CFM International for its A320neo fleet.

Pratt & Whitney GTF engines reduce fuel consumption by 20% compared to previous generations. The technology also provides a 75% smaller noise footprint.
