Royalty Pharma plc agreed to acquire a portion of Neurimmune’s royalty interest in AstraZeneca’s cliramitug for up to $425 million. The agreement includes an upfront payment of $125 million. Royalty Pharma will pay an additional $125 million in the first quarter of 2027. Clinical and regulatory milestones could trigger a further $175 million in payments.

Cliramitug is a first-in-class antibody currently in Phase 3 trials for TTR amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM). The therapy removes existing amyloid deposits to treat the rare heart condition. AstraZeneca forecasts peak annual sales for cliramitug between $3 billion and $5 billion.

Royalty Pharma will receive a 3% to 4% royalty on worldwide net sales of the drug.
