Rheinmetall opened its new 'UK Gun Hall' in Telford on October 22, 2026. This marks the return of large-caliber weapons production to the United Kingdom after nearly two decades. The facility is part of a broader £200 million investment in Rheinmetall's UK operations. It was established in eight months. The plant expects to create over 100 skilled jobs.

The Telford plant will manufacture 120mm and 155mm weapon systems. These systems are primarily for the British Army's Challenger 3 main battle tank and future artillery platforms. At peak capacity, the 11,500-square-meter facility will produce up to 245 barrels annually. It will also produce over 50 breeches annually. This strengthens the UK's domestic defense industrial base and enhances NATO's collective security.
