DARPA awarded Redwire Corporation a $20 million contract. This funding advances Redwire's very low-Earth orbit (VLEO) technology. It supports additional testing and experimentation on a scaled version of Redwire's SabreSat spacecraft under DARPA's Otter program.
The award adds a second flight mission to Redwire's Otter program involvement. It aims to reduce risk for a future full-scale mission. The precursor flight test will focus on critical air-breathing technology designed to enable sustained operations in VLEO. VLEO is a challenging and strategically important orbital regime.
This contract builds upon a previous $44 million award to Redwire for the same program.
