Insulet Corporation has initiated the U.S. rollout of significant enhancements to its Omnipod 5 Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) System. The FDA cleared the updated algorithm in December 2025.
The system now features a new, lower glucose target option of 100 mg/dL. Refined alarm handling reduces interruptions for users.
A primary update includes compatibility with Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus continuous glucose monitoring sensor. This integration enables caregivers to monitor users remotely through the Abbott LibreLinkup app.
Existing users will receive these updates via over-the-air software pushes. Insulet has already begun shipping compatible pods to retail channels.
