Palantir Technologies secured a new contract valued at an estimated £9 million. The contract is to build a national firearms licensing database for police forces across England and Wales. This platform will replace the current system. It will manage firearms license granting, renewal, and revocation. The system will serve 43 police forces.

A cross-party parliamentary committee recently called for the government to exercise a break clause in Palantir's £330 million contract with the National Health Service (NHS). The committee cited concerns about an over-reliance on the firm. The new police contract is scheduled to begin in September. It will run for five years.
