Pharming Group N.V. launched its drug Joenja (leniolisib) commercially in Japan. The treatment targets activated PI3K delta syndrome (APDS) in adult and pediatric patients aged four and older. This move follows the drug’s inclusion on Japan’s National Health Insurance (NHI) drug price list.
The launch marks a significant milestone in Pharming’s global expansion strategy. Japan is now the first market where Joenja is commercially available for children between the ages of 4 and 11.
APDS is a rare primary immunodeficiency that previously left Japanese patients with few options beyond supportive care. OrphanPacific, Inc. serves as the Marketing Authorization Holder and will manage all supply and distribution within the country.
