Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced the company will invest $150 billion annually in Taiwan. Huang described the island as the epicenter of the AI revolution. This figure marks a significant increase from the current $100 billion annual spend. The investment has grown from approximately $10 billion to $15 billion per year five years ago.
The capital solidifies ties with key partners including chip manufacturer TSMC. TSMC produces Nvidia's advanced AI semiconductors. Nvidia will break ground on a new Taipei headquarters this year. The facility is scheduled to become operational by 2030.
