Lila Sciences Inc. is in discussions to raise approximately $2 billion in a Series B funding round. The financing is expected to value the AI research startup at $8.5 billion. This figure marks a significant increase from its $1.3 billion valuation during a $350 million Series A in 2025.

The company uses AI to automate the entire research process through autonomous labs. Its platform generates hypotheses and conducts experiments across life sciences, chemistry, and materials science.

Bloomberg reports that the California Public Employees’ Retirement System and NVentures are anchoring the investment. NVentures serves as the venture capital arm of Nvidia.
