AI chipmaker Groq is raising up to $650 million from existing investors, Axios reports.

This funding round follows a non-exclusive $20 billion licensing deal signed with Nvidia. The agreement was finalized in late 2025.

Nvidia acquihired Groq’s senior leadership to help scale the licensed technology. Founder Jonathan Ross was among the executives who joined the chipmaking giant.

Groq continues to operate as an independent company. The startup will use the new capital for its second act under a new CEO.
