Tel Aviv-based startup doubleAI has debuted a new type of artificial intelligence it calls a code execution model (CEM). Its first CEM, Maxwell, runs inside programs and automatically improves how code works to optimize GPU and CPU performance and lower computing costs, without human intervention.

The two-year-old startup, co-founded by Mobileye founder Amnon Shashua, announced it has raised a total of $220 million. Investors include Lightspeed Venture Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, Dell, and Nvidia.

DoubleAI used about half of its funding to acquire 1,000 of Nvidia’s new B300 chips for its own work.
