The guidance represents an increase from the $5.04 per share reported in the second quarter of 2026. Projected earnings also exceed the $2.63 per share recorded in the third quarter of 2025.
Higher average selling prices and stable volumes should boost the steel mills and steel products segments. Lower pricing and shipments will likely reduce earnings in the raw materials segment. A one-time $130 million cash refund from the second quarter will not recur.
