Northern Star Resources has begun commissioning its expanded Fimiston processing plant at Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines (KCGM) in Western Australia. [12] The milestone followed the successful tie-in of new infrastructure in late September, marking a significant step in the company’s key growth project. [3, 15, 17]

The expansion will increase the plant’s milling capacity from 13 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) to 27Mtpa. [5, 7]

Commissioning affected production in the September quarter, but Northern Star has maintained its full-year FY27 guidance to sell 1.5 million to 1.65 million ounces. [3, 12] The company expects production to be weighted to the second half of the fiscal year as the expanded plant ramps up towards stable operation. [12, 15]
