NLC India launches 1,000 MW Odisha venture, targeting renewable energy expansion

NLC India Limited’s wholly-owned subsidiary, NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), has formed a joint venture with OREDA.

The new entity, NIRL OREDA Renewables Limited, was incorporated on August 31, 2026.

This partnership aims to develop 1,000 MW of renewable energy projects across Odisha.

NIRL holds a 51% controlling stake in the venture.

OREDA maintains the remaining 49% interest.

The collaboration has moved to the execution stage with an initial 250 MW wind power project.

The first phase also includes 225 MW of floating solar capacity.

This move supports NLC India’s strategy to expand its renewable energy footprint.
