NIO has entered a strategic partnership with Chinese semiconductor supplier GigaDevice to co-develop automotive-grade chips. The collaboration focuses on high-performance memory and microcontrollers (MCUs) for NIO’s next-generation smart electric vehicles.
These components will integrate into NIO’s new electrical and electronic architectures. GigaDevice will lead chip design and mass production, while NIO provides vehicle platform development and market insights.
This partnership aligns with CEO William Li’s push for industry-wide chip standardization. The initiative aims to reduce supply chain complexity and lower production costs.
