Tamboran Resources starts first Beetaloo gas sales, proving commercial shale viability

Tamboran Resources, Formentera Partners, and Daly Waters Energy (DWE) launched the first commercial natural gas sales from Australia’s Beetaloo Basin. Gas from the Shenandoah South Pilot Project now flows into the Northern Territory’s network to power Darwin.

This milestone proves the commercial viability of the region’s vast shale resources. A long-term, take-or-pay agreement secures up to 40 terajoules per day for the Northern Territory Government. Production will scale to full capacity by early 2027. The project establishes regional energy security and enables future supply to Australia’s East Coast and global LNG markets.
