Cloudflare has acquired VoidZero, the open-source company behind the JavaScript tooling ecosystem Vite. Vite creator Evan You and the entire VoidZero team will join Cloudflare to integrate high-performance tools into the company's platform.
The acquisition aims to streamline developer workflows for AI-native applications from local coding to global deployment. VoidZero’s primary tools, including Vite, Vitest, and Rolldown, will remain open-source and vendor-neutral.
Cloudflare committed $1 million to a new, independent Vite ecosystem fund to assist open-source contributors. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
