Micron Technology launched Micron Research Labs with a planned $10 billion investment. The company will deploy this funding over the next decade. The lab will be headquartered in Boise, Idaho.

The facility focuses on long-horizon innovation in memory technologies and advanced computing architectures. It also targets advancements in packaging and semiconductor manufacturing to support future artificial intelligence demands.

The initiative serves as the first dedicated memory research hub in the U.S. It will integrate experts from academia, government, and the semiconductor ecosystem.

Construction on the main facility is scheduled to begin in 2027. This $10 billion commitment is separate from Micron’s $250 billion U.S. manufacturing and R&D plan.
