OpenAI has launched Images 2.6, a model that creates animated GIFs in ChatGPT, Codex, and its API. Users can generate GIFs from text prompts or uploaded photos, and edit animation speed and individual frames.
OpenAI says Images 2.6 generates images up to 50% faster than its predecessor.
For developers, the company released two API models: GPT-Image-2.6 Flare, optimized for speed, and GPT-Image-2.6 Sunburst, designed for higher-quality results.
OpenAI also said image creation across its platforms has grown to more than 4 billion images per week.
