Microsoft will overhaul Xbox Cloud Gaming by introducing monthly usage limits for Game Pass subscribers starting in November.

Game Pass Ultimate members will be capped at 15 hours of cloud gaming per month. Premium tier subscribers will receive 10 hours of monthly playtime. Essential tier members are limited to 5 hours per month.

A new pay-as-you-go model will allow non-subscribers to purchase streaming time for eligible games they own. Microsoft expects the new limits to affect 4% of current subscribers.

The company cited rising infrastructure costs as the primary reason for the overhaul. Users may purchase additional playtime, with pricing details to be released later.
