Microsoft and NHS England expanded their AI partnership to provide Microsoft 365 Copilot to 505,000 clinicians and support staff. This initiative represents one of the largest AI-powered administrative deployments in the healthcare sector.
A preliminary trial involved 30,000 workers. These participants represented 90 different organizations. Trial data showed Copilot saved users an average of 43 minutes on administrative tasks daily. The agreement also grants NHS England access to Copilot Studio for developing custom AI agents.
The phased rollout aims to onboard 200,000 users. This initial phase will conclude within six months. An extensive training program will support this implementation. This adoption validates Microsoft’s AI strategy by demonstrating productivity gains for large-scale public sector organizations.
