MSCI appointed Kashi Kakarla as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Product Engineering. The appointment becomes effective June 22. Kakarla joins from Intuit following a 17-year tenure in various technology leadership roles. He most recently led engineering for the Intuit Small Business Platform. Kakarla will report to Chairman and CEO Henry Fernandez and join the firm's Management Committee.
Kakarla will prioritize leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance how clients engage with MSCI solutions. He will lead the establishment of a new MSCI office in Silicon Valley. This facility will serve as an innovation and talent center to drive the company's technology transformation.
The MSCI board created a new Technology and Data Committee to guide these initiatives. This committee will provide formal oversight for the firm's AI and data strategies.
