The Mosaic Company is scaling back phosphate production at facilities across North America and Brazil. Shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz have constrained the availability of raw sulfur.
These temporary measures aim to manage declining sulfur inventories. Affected Florida sites include the Bartow and Riverview plants. The Faustina and Uncle Sam facilities in Louisiana will also reduce output.
This decision follows an earlier reduction in operating rates during 2026. Mosaic previously withdrew its full-year production guidance in May.
Management stated these actions respond to challenging market conditions. The company maintains that its long-term strategy remains unchanged.
