Meta Platforms, Inc. is lobbying the U.S. Congress for legal immunity against lawsuits alleging its social media products cause harm to children. The company is reportedly seeking to include a legal shield in the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA). This provision could block thousands of claims filed by families, school districts, and state attorneys general. The move follows a lost bellwether case that resulted in a multi-million dollar damage award.

Separately, Meta is increasing its artificial intelligence infrastructure through new deals with data-center firm Crusoe. The company also launched the Meta Business Agent, an AI tool designed to automate customer engagement across its messaging platforms. This tool represents a significant component of Meta’s long-term monetization strategy.
