Lupin Limited subsidiary VISUfarma B.V. entered an exclusive licensing agreement with Visus Therapeutics Inc. to commercialize YUVEZZI. The partnership covers the European Union, UK, Switzerland, Norway, and Iceland. YUVEZZI functions as a novel eye drop for treating presbyopia.
Lupin will make a €20 million strategic investment in Visus. The deal includes up to €55 million in regulatory and commercial milestone payments. Total potential consideration for the agreement reaches €75 million.
The agreement strengthens Lupin’s presence in the European specialty ophthalmology market. This follows Lupin’s recent acquisition of VISUfarma to build its regional eye-care franchise.
