Johnson & Johnson entered a definitive agreement to acquire Atraverse Medical, a private firm specializing in left-heart access technology.
The deal includes the HOTWIRE™ Transseptal Access System, an FDA-cleared radiofrequency device. This technology has supported nearly 3,000 clinical procedures to date.
J&J intends to strengthen its position in the market for treating irregular heart rhythms like atrial fibrillation. This acquisition aligns with the company's broader strategy to expand its medical-device division.
The parties did not disclose financial terms. The transaction is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2026.
