JD.com will open its first physical JD MALL in Wan Chai on June 18. The company plans to launch six to eight additional stores in popular districts over the next three years.
This expansion forms part of a HKD 35 billion investment in Hong Kong’s retail, logistics, and technology sectors. The strategy utilizes a Hong Kong sourced, Hong Kong sold model to integrate online and offline retail.
JD.com expects the initiative to create over 10,000 jobs. The company will partner with 1,000 major brands to establish more than 200 physical locations. This move aims to strengthen JD.com’s business ecosystem within the Greater Bay Area.
