The TRIC-I-HF trial results presented at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2026 show transcatheter tricuspid valve repair improves outcomes for high-risk patients. The New England Journal of Medicine simultaneously published the findings.
The intervention met its primary endpoints by reducing hard clinical outcomes when added to medical therapy. Patients receiving the procedure showed 52.4% freedom from all-cause mortality or heart failure hospitalization at three years.
The medical therapy group showed 21.0% freedom from the same co-primary endpoint. These results are expected to inform future clinical guidelines.
