Eli Lilly announced Phase 1 data for its investigational antibody-drug conjugate sofetabart mipitecan (Sofe-M) at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress. Combined with bevacizumab, Sofe-M achieved a 79.3% confirmed objective response rate in patients with platinum-sensitive ovarian cancer. The disease control rate was 100%.

The response rate was consistent across patient subgroups, including people previously treated with PARP inhibitors, who typically have poor outcomes. The safety profile was consistent with the known profiles of both drugs, with no new safety signals observed.

The results support the ongoing Phase 3 evaluation of Sofe-M and may represent progress in treating a difficult-to-treat cancer. They also add to Lilly’s oncology pipeline.
