InterDigital secured a second injunction against Disney from the Unified Patent Court (UPC). The Düsseldorf Local Division ruled that Disney infringed on an InterDigital patent for HEVC video encoding. The court also confirmed the patent's validity during the proceedings.
The injunction applies to 11 European Union countries. Major markets affected by the ruling include France, Germany, and Italy.
This marks the second UPC injunction InterDigital has secured against Disney regarding HEVC technology. Disney retains the option to appeal the court's decision.
