Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), parent of the NYSE, increased its investment in blockchain firm tZERO to expand their strategic partnership. The companies signed a memorandum of understanding to develop infrastructure for tokenized securities markets.

tZERO will serve as the lead design partner for the upcoming NYSE-affiliated Digital Trading Platform. The firm will provide digital transfer agent and broker-dealer infrastructure for on-chain settlement.

ICE will license tZERO’s portfolio of 103 blockchain-related patents for use in the platform. Both firms are also exploring the use of tokenized assets as collateral at ICE clearing houses.
