IceCure Medical Ltd. received regulatory approval from China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for its ProSense cryoablation system. The NMPA granted the authorization for a Class III medical device.
This approval allows IceCure to market and sell the system and its associated cryoprobes throughout the Chinese healthcare market. ProSense utilizes minimally-invasive technology to destroy tumors by freezing them as an alternative to surgical removal.
The technology is currently available in the United States, Europe, and other parts of Asia. CEO Eyal Shamir stated the approval marks a significant step in expanding global access to the company’s technology.
