ImmunityBio (IBRX) shares rose nearly 8% after the United Arab Emirates (UAE) granted marketing authorization for its cancer immunotherapy, Anktiva.

The approval covers two indications: non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) and metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

This authorization represents the broadest regulatory scope for Anktiva to date.

It marks the first global approval covering the full spectrum of BCG-unresponsive NMIBC, including carcinoma in situ (CIS) and papillary tumors.

The UAE's authorization provides a wider scope of use than the drug's current approval in the United States.

The UAE is the fifth regulatory jurisdiction to approve Anktiva.

This expansion increases the treatment's global footprint to 34 countries.
