Hut 8 Corp. filed a rezoning and annexation application with the Village of Latham to advance a $5 billion data center. The move seeks to circumvent the Logan County Board following its May 2026 moratorium on data center development.
Annexation would shift decision-making power for the 500-megawatt project to Latham's five-member board. Hut 8 offered a community benefit agreement that could increase the village's annual revenue by over 2,600%.
The Latham Village Board scheduled a public hearing and a vote on the proposal for August 3, 2026.
