HP Inc. has named Emma Walmsley as its new chief executive officer, effective January 4, 2027. Walmsley previously served as CEO of pharmaceutical company GSK and has been a member of Microsoft’s board of directors. Her appointment concludes a global search for a leader to guide the technology company.

Walmsley will succeed Bruce Broussard, who has served as interim CEO since February 2026. When she starts, Broussard will become chair of the board.

Walmsley said she will focus on “harnessing the power of the AI era” to unlock growth and value for HP.
