Thales and the PGZ-MIECZNIK consortium completed the naming, christening, and float-off of Poland’s first new frigate on August 12. The ceremony at the Gdynia shipyard marked the debut of the first of three planned vessels for the Polish Navy.
The program leverages a UK-Poland industrial partnership to deliver advanced naval technology. International partners including Thales, Babcock, and MBDA provide proven designs and systems for the fleet.
Domestic construction supports Poland's significant increase in national defense spending. This first-of-class build is a central element of Poland’s military modernization and strengthens local industrial capabilities.
