Health Canada approved GSK’s Exdensur (depemokimab) for two distinct respiratory indications. The drug serves as an add-on maintenance treatment for severe eosinophilic asthma in adults and adolescents. It also treats adults with severe chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps. Exdensur is Canada’s first long-acting biologic featuring a twice-yearly dosing schedule for these conditions.

Approval followed data from the SWIFT and ANCHOR phase III clinical trials. These trials showed sustained efficacy in reducing asthma exacerbations compared to a placebo. Results also demonstrated improved nasal polyp size and reduced obstruction. The treatment remained well-tolerated throughout the clinical studies.
