Grab Holdings Ltd. is partnering with the Malaysian government on a RM160 million financial package announced as part of the country’s Budget 2027. The initiative aims to increase net earnings and improve the welfare of e-hailing and p-hailing workers.

The package will help workers meet higher minimum income thresholds and cover vehicle maintenance and insurance costs. The government will also offer matching incentives for contributions to the Social Security Organisation (Socso) and Employees Provident Fund (EPF), encouraging drivers and riders to save for retirement.

The collaboration aims to strengthen Grab partners’ social safety net and financial stability. It could also improve driver retention and service quality in a key market for the company.
