Grab Holdings has agreed to reduce certain fees for passengers and drivers in Vietnam and compensate drivers affected by excessive deductions, according to the country’s competition commission. The agreement follows a review of complaints that fare and commission structures were reducing drivers’ earnings.
Grab proposed six measures and will begin refunding approximately VNĐ3.9 billion to affected drivers on November 5. The company also committed VNĐ2.95 trillion for the fourth quarter to fund driver bonuses, fuel support, and passenger promotions.
The commission will continue to monitor Grab’s implementation of the measures.
