Goldgroup Mining Inc. has launched a 26,053-metre diamond drilling campaign at its San Francisco Gold Project in Sonora, Mexico. This marks the first major drilling initiative at the wholly-owned site in several years.
The program aims to upgrade and expand an existing mineral resource of 1.23 million ounces of gold. These resources are currently held in the Measured and Indicated categories.
Goldgroup is simultaneously conducting a technical study to evaluate a production restart at the former open-pit mine. The study integrates new geological data with mine planning, infrastructure needs, and capital requirements.
The company expects to complete the drilling program in the fourth quarter of 2026. Results from the campaign will guide the future development of the cornerstone asset.
