In a quarterly SEC filing, Alphabet revealed it holds $94.1 billion in SpaceX equity following the aerospace company's record-breaking initial public offering on June 12, 2026. The filing provides the first official valuation of Alphabet's long-held stake at public market prices. Of the total, $80 billion is under short-term post-IPO lockup restrictions, while another $14.1 billion is subject to long-term lockups that extend through the third quarter of 2027.

The massive holding stems from Google's early investment in 2015, when it participated in a $1 billion funding round when SpaceX was valued at approximately $12 billion. Subsequent funding rounds and a merger with xAI diluted Google's initial 7.5% stake to its current position of roughly 4.9%. The disclosure marks one of the most successful venture capital investments in corporate history.
