Value investor Robert Olstein's firm, Olstein Capital Management, sold its entire 44,000 share position in General Motors (GM) during the second quarter of 2026. The move was disclosed in a quarterly 13F filing with the SEC, which reports past holdings and does not reflect real-time trading activity. The sale reduced the firm's previously reported $3,280 stake in the automaker to zero, completely removing GM from its portfolio.

The liquidation of the GM stake appears to be part of a larger event, as filings indicate the firm exited all of its listed holdings during the quarter. This portfolio-wide sell-off coincided with the acquisition of Olstein Capital Management's fund business by Easterly Asset Management, a deal that was completed on June 29, 2026. Following the acquisition, Olstein's mutual funds were reorganized under the Easterly brand.
