U.S. safety regulators opened an investigation into 997,743 General Motors pickup trucks and SUVs. The probe covers 2021-2026 models including the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Cadillac Escalade, and GMC Yukon. These vehicles feature the L87 V8 engine.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration launched an engineering analysis following 499 reports of engine failure. These incidents occurred in vehicles that already received a previous recall repair. Regulators will now evaluate the effectiveness of GM’s initial remedy.
