The investigation examines whether the company violated the Florida Antitrust Act to stifle market competition. Uthmeier cited rising credit score costs as a primary driver of the probe, noting increased financial pressure on home and auto buyers.
Investigators are scrutinizing FICO for potential predatory pricing and exclusionary contracts with major credit bureaus. The probe also evaluates whether the company illegally blocked competitors to maintain its dominant market position. These business practices have already triggered similar scrutiny from federal regulators.
FICO must provide internal documents related to its pricing, market share, and contracts by August 5, 2026. The Attorney General stated his office will not tolerate monopoly abuse that harms Florida families.
